With August upon us, summer is heating up to its peak and therefore it is more important than ever that we be wary to never leave our beloved pets locked in hot cars while we run errands- not even for a few minutes!
It only takes a few short minutes for a warm car on n 80 degree day to become a literal oven to a furry companion. In fact, caring for our animal allies has come strongly enough to the forefront that Tennessee passed a new law this month as an extension of their Good Samaritan law that protects citizens who break into hot cars to save animals.
Well known modern furniture supplier IKEA is now joining the party by testing out a really cool new idea at one of their Germany locations and is calling is the dog parking lot. This friendly feature will provide individual spaces of artificial turf complete with fresh water and leash attachments so that customers can shop and feel confident that their sweet furry companions are comfortable and safe.
Though IKEA is testing this project at only one location at the moment, they plan to spread the love worldwide to all their various international locations
This seems right on target with the attention that is being paid to the care and love our pets deserve, including a recent celebrity demonstration where Professional football player Tyrann Mathieu locked himself in a hot car as a stunt to raise awareness for animals.
Looks like this creative IKEA dog parking lot is the next big thing to keep man’s best friend happy and healthy.
