People want a reality show where ‘Flat Earthers search for the Edge of the world’

  • ExayBashay

Cheaper to have them Group Skype each other from all over the world, and report where the Sun and Moon currently is in the sky.

    • betsymarshall

from Dallas I watched the opening of the Los Angeles Olympics, and while the moon rose into the olympic arch, I went outside and saw it was about 1/3 of the way up to zenith, and nowhere near the horizon. your suggestion sounds similar, but can be done anyting; now you just need to get some FE’s to sign on for the trials!

    • PunkRucker

Correct – when this is done it dispels the ball-earth myth.

      • L. Ivanov

Quite the contrary – it destroys flat earth completely. The existence of time zones is impossible on a flat earth. Seasons too.

        • PunkRucker

Not sure where you get that from or what flat earth model you are using ?? Seasons/Time Zones etc all work perfectly on the flat earth. Do you honestly think you are flying through space at 30km per second but never feel any of this movement ? Sorry mate you have been duped by the deceptions of Jesuitry. In line with what ExayBashay has said I suggest you research the paths of the sun and moon over our ball earth maps. You will find they make sine curves – this does not correlate with a ball earth model. These same curves are circles and ellipses on a flat earth. Just one of literally thousands of examples I can cite of the ridiculous flying spinning ball model.

          • L. Ivanov

I expected you to reply with something incredibly dumb and you did not disappoint. Now allow me to utterly debunk you. I will humiliate you for all to see.

“Seasons/Time Zones etc all work perfectly on the flat earth.” – No, they don’t. On a flat earth, it would be the same time of the day everywhere at once. Also, seasons will never change, there can be no summer or winter on a flat earth. The existence of seasons absolutely destroys the whole idea of flat earth.

“Do you honestly think you are flying through space at 30km per second but never feel any of this movement ?” – Funny thing, people aboard flying airplanes (and they often fly at speeds around 500 mph, which is pretty fast) are able to walk around, eat, drink, and even use the bathroom in flight. How does this magic happen??? Oh, I know… acceleration. You only feel movement when you’re accelerating (which is why passengers fasten their seatbelts during take off and landing only). The Earth is NOT accelerating – it is moving through space at a constant speed, therefore you can’t feel the movement.

“Sorry mate you have been duped by the deceptions of Jesuitry.” – Sorry mate, but the concept of a globe Earth was discovered and proven thousands of years before the Jesuits even existed (ever heard of Eratosthenes?). Also freemasons, illuminati and any other bogeymen that you believe in. Globe earth predates them all by centuries.

“You will find they make sine curves – this does not correlate with a ball earth model.” – Quite the contrary, it fits perfectly into a globe model. These are EXACTLY the kind of orbits that they should have. You would have known this, if you had actually studied some astronomy (you obviously haven’t). Educate yourself before trying to participate in debate next time, moron.

“These same curves are circles and ellipses on a flat earth.” – And they also violate several laws of physics, which makes the whole flat earth model IMPOSSIBLE.

That was easy – your arguments were so weak, I destroyed them in less than 5 minutes. So boring. Who’s next?

          • PunkRucker

“I will humiliate you for all to see.” nasty ad hominems don’t reflect well on you.” On a flat earth, it would be the same time of the day everywhere at once ” . This is typical of globeheads who dismiss the flat earth model but have no understanding of it. What you fail to realize is that the sun is much smaller and much closer. Its’ localized nature is easily observed.” You only feel movement when you’re accelerating ” – correct. So if the earth is spinning its sets up constant centripetal acceleration with a vector at right angles to gravity. We do not feel this. The second motion is the earths orbit around the sun – this too also creates centripetal acceleration at different rates as the earths speed increases and decreases in its orbit around the sun. This is scientific fact expounded by the heliocentric model. Again this motion is never felt.
Even travelling at 10km per hour in non-linear motion is easily felt ? Also the equator spins faster than higher latitudes – 1600 km/h as opposed to 1000km/h for example. So hopping in a plane and flying from a higher latitude to the equator our relative motion would have to increase in speed. Certainly when you land on the ground you will be travelling 600km/h faster. Why is this change in speed never felt ? Similarly a plane travelling from the equator to the North Pole would be moving with the atmosphere which is moving with the earths rotation. So what magically slows the plane down ? Please by all means explain this to me ? There is a difference between explaining the paths of the sun and moon – which clearly show a flat earth – and calling me a moron.
I am afraid you have an inflated view of your own understanding. I am used to this kind of vacuous aggressive response from globeheads whose ignorance is exposed.

          • L. Ivanov

Oh, you don’t like being called a “moron”? Then stop believing in flat earth! How do you expect me to call a person who believes in religious mumbo-jumbo that has been debunked by science for thousands of years already???

“What you fail to realize is that the sun is much smaller and much closer.” – What YOU fail to realize is that this is impossible. If the sun were smaller, it wouldn’t give off nough light and heat – the Earth would be permanently frozen and dark. If the sun were closer, it would burn the planet to a crisp, as the temperature of the sun’s surface is more than 5000 degrees Celsius. It would take less than a minute to incinerate the planet.

“if the earth is spinning its sets up constant centripetal acceleration with a vector at right angles to gravity.” – Bullshit. Please read some astronomy books next time. You can’t feel the motion of the Earth because there is no acceleration, period.

“Also the equator spins faster than higher latitudes -” & “Why is this change in speed never felt ?” – Ever heard of inertia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inertia

“explaining the paths of the sun and moon – which clearly show a flat earth” – Only if you believe in magic. The flat earth model movements of the sun and moon violatre the laws of physics and are therefore IMPOSSIBLE in the real world. Unless there is some magical fairy or unicorn moving the sun and moon in your model’s absurd rollercoaster-style paths.

Please understand tht flat earth theory is just a few years away from being completely destroyed and thrown away on the trash heap of history. Do you really want to be on the losing side in this? If this is your choice, I can’t help you…

          • PunkRucker

No I don’t. Do you ? :)” “if the earth is spinning it sets up constant centripetal acceleration with a vector at right angles to gravity.” – Bullshit” This is basic physics Mr Ivanov (not astronomy). So I’m afraid you have exposed yourself as an empty vessel. “that has been debunked by science for thousands of years already???” – really ? Heliocentrism is 400 years old. A mere babe in swaddling clothes – much like you.Anyway good luck to you.

          • L. Ivanov

Bitch please, you never heard of Eratosthenes? He proved the Earth was spherical and measured its circumference using nothing by mathematics. And nowadays we have actual photos from space, which clearly show the planet is not flat.

Remember the “December 2012 Mayan calendar apocalypse theory”? Remember how it became a joke on the next day when the world obviously didn’t end? This is EXACTLY what will happen to flat earth theory – it will be remembered as a poor joke that was completely debunked and burned to the ground.

Why do you want to be on the losing side?

          • PunkRucker

Aaah – the bravery of being out of range.See my earlier reply to Eratosthenes.I am only interested in the truth. The truth will win 🙂

          • L. Ivanov

The truth is on my side. You are defending a scam that has made certain people very rich.

Do I need to remind you how scammers also got rich from the 2012 Mayan calendar thing?

          • Ray

Hey Einstein, if the Earth is flat, then why do I need the variable “r” in my zip code radius lookup script. Here’s a piece of it:

            $row = $rs -> fetch_assoc();
            $lat1 = $row[‘latitude’];
            $lon1 = $row[‘longitude’];
            $d = $_POST[‘distance’];

$r = 3959; //Earth’s radius in miles (because the world isn’t flat, Shaq)

//compute max and min latitudes / longitudes for search square
            $latN = rad2deg(asin(sin(deg2rad($lat1)) * cos($d / $r) + cos(deg2rad($lat1)) * sin($d / $r) * cos(deg2rad(0))));
            $latS = rad2deg(asin(sin(deg2rad($lat1)) * cos($d / $r) + cos(deg2rad($lat1)) * sin($d / $r) * cos(deg2rad(180))));
            $lonE = rad2deg(deg2rad($lon1) + atan2(sin(deg2rad(90)) * sin($d / $r) * cos(deg2rad($lat1)), cos($d / $r) – sin(deg2rad($lat1)) * sin(deg2rad($latN))));
            $lonW = rad2deg(deg2rad($lon1) + atan2(sin(deg2rad(270)) * sin($d / $r) * cos(deg2rad($lat1)), cos($d / $r) – sin(deg2rad($lat1)) * sin(deg2rad($latN))));

And yes, I keep my reference to a flat Earth and Shaq in my script to remind me how stupid people can be, even famous people. Sorry Aristotle, but you can’t argue with maths.

          • Ray

Yep, that’s what I thought…not a peep. Like I said, you can’t argue with maths.

          • PunkRucker

Ray I wish I knew what you were on about.

          • Jayson

            Bernoulli theorem.

Equator to north flight in a perpetual correction flight. The air friction and prevailing winds would push the aircraft constantly east and end up in the other continents.

Voyager already did a nonstop flight around the world crossing only certain countries in one direction. By your flawed view, it would have had to either go in a circle and cross countries it didn’t or go one direction then turn around and cone back in the same flight path it left in. It didn’t.

So many easy things you have no idea about which disproves all flat earth idiots… Clever idiots.

          • PunkRucker

N-S circumnavigation would disprove flat earth. That’s why no flights over the S Pole.

          • Redhorseman

“What you fail to realize is that the sun is much smaller and much closer. Its’ localized nature is easily observed.” If there is no curve to hide things over the horizon, just because the sun is over a different part of the map would not make it invisible.

“if the earth is spinning its sets up constant centripetal acceleration with a vector at right angles to gravity. We do not feel this.” I think you mean centrifugal, but I get your point, besides which I think you answered your own question? The forces counter each other, though the resulting pull from gravity is greater, thus resulting in 1G force at the surface.

“The second motion is the earths orbit around the sun – this too also creates centripetal acceleration at different rates as the earths speed increases and decreases in its orbit around the sun. This is scientific fact expounded by the heliocentric model. Again this motion is never felt.” Again, the reason we don’t shoot off into the distance is because the opposite forces are in balance. It’s not like a yo-yo on a string because the string only pulls at the yo-yo from the one spot where it is connected. The gravity countering centrifugal force acts on every particle, so it doesn’t feel like we’re being pulled between two forces, we just feel the resulting weight holding us to the ground.

“Even travelling at 10km per hour in non-linear motion is easily felt?” Yes, because only your seatbelt is resisting the force of driving around the corner.

“Also the equator spins faster than higher latitudes – 1600 km/h as opposed to 1000km/h for example. So hopping in a plane and flying from a higher latitude to the equator our relative motion would have to increase in speed.” This is simple course-correction, which is constant in-flight and mostly handled by autopilot using GPS.

“Certainly when you land on the ground you will be travelling 600km/h faster. Why is this change in speed never felt?” That change in relative motion occurs steadily throughout the flight. You aren’t suddenly encountering a 600km/h cross-wind. Actually it’s the wind that results from those differences in velocity that the plane is flying through the whole trip, just like the currents on the ocean are the reality that ships need to deal with as they cross to their destination. The direction of the prevailing ocean and wind currents is constant, measurable evidence of the difference in velocity at different latitudes as those more fluid substances are dragged along the equator faster than at other latitudes (which Jayson already pointed out more succinctly below).

          • Jayson

But day and night. How is one set of continents day and the other set night?

Why are the oblesks of Egypt hundred or so miles apart have differing shadows?

How can we not see across the oceans to the other continents once above the treelines?

You’ve been duped and fail many of the STEM sciences.

          • PunkRucker

@ Jason – the sun is much smaller and much closer than what we are told. There is a limit to its illumination ie – it doesn’t light the entire earth at any one time. There is a limit to your field of vision – vanishing point – horizon line etc . Just as when you look through a camera lens you cannot see infinity – ie there is a field of vision determined by the optics of the lense. NO empirical experiment has ever shown : 1. movement of the earth 2. earths curvature. FACT.

          • Jayson

So the mini sun just goes back and forth across the planet? It still doesn’t match up sun rise in the west and sun set in the east daily.

A camera lens is a portal. A flashlight if you will. The sun is a sphere so your claim will still have sunlight across the flat plate. No matter the size and closeness.

On another tangent, astronomers the world over, from the 1800s to new university grads to life long career astronomers, they’ve all measured the sun, the distance and have the maths to back it up.

What’s your backing of your claim? Wheres your hard evidence and physical proof?

Right now your calling an apple a banana. Look up the youtube of that if you need to.

          • PunkRucker

@ Jason – the sun revolves around the north pole. The way it casts its light is electromagnetic in nature and is limited by the impact of its field. Astronomy has a long history of geocentrism and even today there are many astronomers who suscribe to geocentrism.Modern astronomers are still thumb-sucking and changing distances speeds etc al the time so your claim that everything is done and dusted is not accurate.Geocentrism is many thousands of years old while copernican astronomy is recent.Your arrogance is typical of the modern day beleif that science has it all figured out. Truth is it doesnt.

          • Jayson

My arrogance? How about your ignorance?

How can the arctic and the Antarctic be traversed from o e side straight across to the other side. Your flat earth maps break one of them off.

Astronomy is finding new things more and more. Look up planet x.

By your mental screwball idea the sun is small and very close to earth, how does the rest of tour system rotate around and also get sunlight? Just when they’re lucky enough to pop out from Earths shadow?

Seriously you’re breaking every law of physics and rational thinking.

          • PunkRucker

Jayson you are in for some big surprises along the way. Good luck dude !

          • Jayson

You still don’t answer why the arctic has MONTHS of daylight then MONTHS of night time. Guess what … Same happens at the south pole.

Don’t give me this sun rotates around the north pole bull shit because it is bullshit.

          • PunkRucker

The midnight sun in the Arctic can be seen 90km south of the polar circle – impossible according to the globe model. Makes perfect sense on the flat earth. There is no midnight sun in Antarctica of course. More proof of flat earth. The spinning fantasy ball flying through space is BULLSHIT. Just a matter of time before you discover this for yourself and have to eat humble pie 🙂

          • Jayson

            Ok delusional Dotard.

Actual witnesses in antarctica counter your claim altogether.

The summer days they can see the sun making a spiral higher in the sky till the equinox then spiral down into perpetual night.

Doesnt fit any sort of flat earth ideal by any means since then sun still has to rise and fall daily the rest if the earth. Which is a sphere model.

Then the moon solar eclipse only shadows a small spot travelling across. Eye witness from airlines in fact. We know the exact size of the moon, and proximity to earth. Your sun is extremely small and close model would mean the moon would be outside the suns distance or would totally block the sun during the eclipse or would smack into the sun.

Except we know the distance of the sun away from Earth and the size of it. We also know Jupiter/Saturn causes the sun to have a spiral orbit as it orbits the sun. Its small in comparison but measurable.

Now getting back to astronomers you claim support flat Earth delusions. Give me 5 accredited. I haven’t found a single one.

          • PunkRucker

Claiming someone has claimed something is hardly proof of anything wouldn’t you say ? Some of your sentences are hard to understand. I’m sure your grammar etc will improve with age. The sun is the same size as the moon not coincidentally and miraculously 400 times bigger and further away ! Lunar eclipses with the sun and moon both visible in the sky have proven and continue to prove the flat earth. It seems you are extremely young and naive. You think 911 was an inside job ? lCare to disagree with these luminaries on the movement of the sun ?

“I have come to believe that the motion of the Earth cannot be detected by any optical experiment.” -Albert Einstein

“Briefly, everything occurs as if the Earth were at rest…” -Henrick Lorentz

“There was just one alternative; the earth’s true velocity through space might happen to have been nil.” -Arthur Eddington

“The failure of the many attempts to measure terrestrially any effects of the earth’s motion…” -Wolfgang Pauli

“We do not have and cannot have any means of discovering whether or not we are carried along in a uniform motion of translation.” -Henri Poincaré

“A great deal of research has been carried out concerning the influence of the Earth’s movement. The results were always negative.” -Henri Poincaré

“This conclusion directly contradicts the explanation…which presupposes that the Earth moves.” -Albert Michelson

“The data were almost unbelievable… There was only one other possible conclusion to draw — that the Earth was at rest.” -Bernard Jaffe

          • Jayson

Personal attacks doesn’t strengthen your views.

Quoting scientists from the turn if the 1900s?? Please. They haven’t the equipment, precision nor theorem findings they could build upon. Try referencing findings from modern age scientists.

Coincidentally https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelson–Morley_experiment ended up proving spinning earth.

Hulse and Taylor shared 1993 Nobel prize winners disproves your arguments altogether.

Modern instruments measure the sun distance to a few meters. The international astronomical union have agreed upon the AU is a tick under 150 million kilometers.

How come Venera 7 which sent pics from Venus never crossed the path of the sun but it was still further away?

The 2 satellites orbiting and measuring the moon right now don’t detect the sun in any proximity of the earth.

That’s the sun. Now for the flat earth b’s, if it was the size of the moon, everywhere would still be day time. Your argument is disproven…. Again.

The military even. Their ballistics for ships and howitzers require trigonometry that also compensation for the curvature of the earth. Look them up and learn the physics of the real world.

Finally. If it was so flat, cats would have knocked everything off the edge already.

          • Jayson

Since you have a hard time. I just did it for you.

This is about a mile from me right now as the crow flies. The original concept was created by hypothesis, prediction, testing, and has been reproduced and confirmed by hundreds of unrelated people since (including the artists who created this one). That is the literal definition of the Scientific Method.
And most important, you can literally do this in your garage without any fancy equipment.

          • Redhorseman

As for #2, I don’t know about empirical, but you can sit at the beach all day with a decent telescope and watch boats “sink” and “rise” over the horizon. If this were due solely to ocean swells, the behavior would not be consistent. If it were due to atmospheric distortion/obscuration or limited vision, the entire boat would fade in and out, rather than just the bottom.

          • RayPierreWhit

Yes, I believe that I can fly at some velocity and not feel it. For example, I ride in an airplane going 500+ knots. Pretty fast relative (note that word) to a fixed point on the ground. But, I don’t feel it unless the plane changes direction or otherwise accelerates or decelerates. It’s a reference frame thang.

And y’all a bunch of limp dick trolls.

          • Drastaro

OMG some people are so dumb…how can you still believe in flat Earth in the 21 century?Learn some physics before talking bullshit.

          • PunkRucker

            A very well-conditioned response. Pavlov’s dog anyone ?

        • Jayson

Not to mention some continents are day and the rest are night.

They haven’t explained how that happens in a flat earth.

      • Hermit

Living on a spinning ball may be scary but living on a flat earth is monstrous. Flat Earth is a really monstrous, awful and false.

        • PunkRucker

Are you sure ? The monsters are hiding in plane sight 🙂

  • Desdecardo

The only reason this is so popular is that it’s mocked and looked down on by rational and logical thinkers.

Maybe just shooting them into space would be a better solution? If they get a show and cross over the line they say is the edge of the world and don’t find government boogie men and just more ice, they will say it’s another conspiracy. They will never believe the truth.

These are the people that believe in the Illuminati garbage, lizard and cat people, that sandhook and 9/11 were faked, and we never landed on the moon. Oh and that Nibiru or planet x (whatever silly stuff you want to call it) was supposed to collide with the earth a couple weeks ago. They spit in the face of logic, reasoning and science. Just ignore them. They will go away. Much like when people last believed in a flat Earth and medicine was based on the four humors.

    • Ben Johnson

There is no such thing as outer space. We are all inside of a dome.

      • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

The Simpsons movie was a documentary!

    • John Lavis

Sandy hook and 9/11 were staged but the earth is still round…

    • PunkRucker

” that sandhook and 9/11 were faked, and we never landed on the moon ” – you are exposing your naivety.

  • Hermit

Ancient Hebrew ideas. When the people knew nothing about the universe. The Jews launcehed this theory as a psycho-social experiment, to see ow many idiots are there in the world, and to keep peiole down, illiterete, good slaves for the NEW WORLD ORDER.

    • John Lavis

“To see ow many idiots”? “And to keep peiole down”? And you have the audacity to imply others are idiots?…You can plainly see the mistakes you make are underlined in RED and you still post without double checking what you write?

      • Hermit

The mistakes? I know ehich they are because I didn’t have my glasses and not because I don;t know how to write. So what? What does this mean? Does it change the meaning? Flat Earth is a psycho-social experiment launched favouring the puropses of the New World Order.Distract (from the real problems)-divide(and reign)-Deceit. To believe in a flat earth means that you are completely illiterate, ignoring Physics, Mathematics, Astronomy, Space Organizations, all the aviators and the seamen of the World, the Ancient Greeks etc. I propose to flattards to organize a mission to go round the eternal ice wall, to measure the circumference of the Earth. And they will be watched. And no need to go to Space!!! Well, let’s ptove it. Otherwise, the New World Order has invented a good way to propose a way to people how to make pseydo-opposition to it. Distract, divide, deceive. And you gain money through the propaganda, the videos etc. And they send you to serach nonsense or to try to find the palaces and castles beyond the Antarctica, while they steal everything in front of you. And last but not least, flar earth is scary, nighmarish. Uhhhh!

        • John Lavis

Nope none of the above,it was merely to point out “you” pointing fingers at idiots whilst writing like one yourself…even now, the mistakes in your laborious comment above is evident you do not check your work, so how can anything you say/write be given any credibility. I am not advocating for a flat earth but then I also do not believe they went to the moon when they first said they did in 1969 but like I said none of that was topical in what I wrote so I believe you also have reading and comprehension issues.

        • PunkRucker

The idea that the flat earth movement is a psy-op is a psy-op. Lol. They have to mainstream flat earth with disinfo and psy-ops because they know it’s just a matter of time before it’s exposed. It’s a crazy world ! I know what you mean by scary. But hanging onto a spinning ball flying through space at 30km per second is also pretty scary !

          • Daniel Harvison

You would have to believe that it’s been a psy-op for all of modern history, throughout colonial times, before certain powerful countries ever existed, like the U.S. So tell me, who was keeping the secret then? King George? Please.

          • Redhorseman

I assume you believe Occam was a disinformation agent, when he suggested the simplest answer is usually right. Let’s just take the US for example. Colonists moved over here from England, then rebelled against England, killing so many people on both sides. Yet you believe the whole way through that the leadership on both sides continued to secretly rule the whole world together, to conceal the truth from the people who were recently burning witches at the stake.
That’s just one revolution. Governments are overthrown by Banana Republic warlords, broken up into ethic/religious regions (Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia), heck all of Eastern Europe broke free from the USSR. All of the while, all these old and new leaders continued conspiring together secretly to run the world?
Add to that the whole convoluted system (about which there’s still no better explanation for how it works than angels carrying the sun along its path) almost perfectly simulates what would happen if the simplest scientific explanation, gravity, were true.

          • PunkRucker

So you obviously didn’t watch the video right ! What does that say about you ? The simplest answer is just so convenient. Especially if you are not willing to do the research which you obviously aren’t. Why even attempt to comment on how things work if you haven’t investigated them ? Your version of US history reads like a 7 year old’s history project. I don’t ‘believe’ anything – I dig and read and research and then dig some more. You are a poor student and would fail any real course on Architecture or anything else for that matter.

          • Redhorseman

Hey, I thought we’d lost you.
How things work? I’ve been reading and searching, and still found nothing suggesting 1) What keeps the tiny sun floating 400 miles above the Discworld or 2) What propels the sun on its course, which changes ever so slightly throughout the year, around the disc in a way that perfectly simulates what it would do if the Earth were on a 23.5° axis moving around a star about 93 million miles away.
I’m not looking for convenient. I see one well-thought-out and provable explanation, and one that the more I look into it, starts to resemble Scientology.
I wasn’t trying to describe all of US history. The whole point was if any world leader had said anything about the shape of the planet, Flat Earther’s would open arguments with such quotes.
As far as the video, you mean the video teasing Onstott’s book? Or the Truthseeker False Flag Weekly video? Yeah I watched those.
Not sure what you mean by “Real” course in architecture. Would that be one that covers the architecture of conspiracy?
It would only be fair to call me a poor student if I had set out to research as deeply as you have the subjects you’re criticizing me for not being an expert in. So yeah, I’ve only read enough to try to carry on this conversation during lunch breaks. Based on how congenial you are, I’m not motivated to give up a lot of free time to make you happy.
I have passed plenty of classes, both in Architecture and many other subjects. None of them were about the mechanics of a flat Earth, so my apologies if I don’t understand how it’s alleged to work. Hopefully I can fake it on the final, because I won’t be purchasing the text. Some of my confusion may result from the Society not being able to agree among themselves on most of these things I’m unsure about.

    • PunkRucker

Incorrect. ALL ancient cosmologies share a flat geocentric earth. The spinning ball myth is a recent (400 years) occult/Jesuit inversion of our creation. It is crucial to the modern evolution/science knows everything/ET myths.Close but no cigar.

      • L. Ivanov

The Ancient Greeks proved and measured the globe.

Google “Eratosthenes”, educate yourself, you worthless moron!

        • PunkRucker

Aaah Eratosthenes. Curator of the famed Library of Alexandria who plagiarised the work of the Pharaonic scribes. Ancient Greece is not ‘Ancient’ at all. It seems you are the one who needs to do a little more reading. A more constructive endeavour than hurling insults at strangers I would imagine.

        • PunkRucker

Eratosthenes was curator of the famed Library of Alexandria and leant heavily on the work of the Pharaonic scribes. Ancient Greece is not so ancient after all. It seems your time would be better spent doing some reading rather than hurling insults at strangers on the net.

        • PunkRucker

        • PunkRucker

Further to this if you had investigated the flat earth you would know that the eratosthenes experiment works perfectly well on a flat earth with a smaller closer sun. Try thinking about this before calling ME a ‘moron’…. Are you Russian ? If so please explain why the Ruskies never made it to the moon ?

  • Joost Bruikman

It has always been about identity not science. You can’t convince people with a vested emotional interest against everything you say.

  • Fay

Don’t go to the South Pole, but rather, try to circumnavigate the world, going from north to south, then back north. Has anyone actually circumnavigated that way? Going to the South Pole will achieve nothing, since it’s one spot on a bit of ice.

    • Ben Johnson

There is no south pole. Educate yourself.

      • John Lavis

        Prove it…

        • Hermit

What is your problem with my grammatical “mistakes”? I told you I am not a native speaker. And at least I asked to yoou to correct them. You didn’t…and you are so pathetic because aomeone does not agree with your satanistic sinister false ideas. You shut up and relax.

          • John Lavis

Asking what is wrong with your grammatical mistakes answers your own question…firstly you should be thanking me if I take the time to correct you as I would to anyone who corrected me when I was speaking/typing or reading their language and making mistakes you ungrateful F$%K,
Secondly what satanic views do I have? I never claimed the earth was flat so you obviously have a problem with reading English too…..D*&khead

          • Francheska Proulx

So racist that you harass someone that is not an native english speaker because he made mistakes.

          • John Lavis

Firstly i did not harass anyone as the definition of harass is to irritate or torment someone persistently or to wear out and secondly there was nothing racist in what i wrote as the definition of racist is a person who believes a particular race is superior to others and i do not know what race they were to feel superior. Your choice of words is simply ludicrous, you clearly have no idea what they truly mean but simply compiled the words “harass” and “racist” for maximum impact and you failed. Go away and learn what words actually mean before you try slandering someone on the internet.

          • Francheska Proulx

Sorry but i am also not an native english speaker and sometimes it’s hard to choose the right words. Are you going to talk to me like if it was a default to not speak english too? Because that is what you’re doing with the other guy, you put so much enphasis on the fact that hes not an english speaker that it feels insulting.

          • John Lavis

Are you stupid?…did you not read what i wrote above?…what am i doing to the other guy?…because you have injected yourself to this then yes, if that is what you want so badly enough to write to me then yes i will do it for you. Say something worthy and then i will rubbish you for your lack of English, because that is what you want so badly.

          • Francheska Proulx

Boff actually i didn’t even thought that you would answer after all this time and i know when im gonna have to much difficulties to explain what i mean, so im just gonna pass. I have better things to do.

          • John Lavis

I answered it because i received an email letting me know someone had made a comment to me and you didn’t expect me to reply?…what did you expect? Do you think you can just have a whinge at me because your English is not good? If you have better things to do then why say anything at all? Women pfft never shut up…always have an opinion lol yes you had better pass, it is much better for you.

          • Francheska Proulx

Wow now talking about women, such a classic. You know what? Dont answer. Even if you do, i wont. Have a good day.

          • John Lavis

So clearly you don’t have better things to do lol so funny…

          • John Lavis

ooo it must be itchin you not to click reply lol…You interfere with your “oh so important” little diatribe asking me to pick on your English. Don’t take it to heart Francheska as there are much worse then you. I correct peoples English (sometimes) as a favour to them but then there are the people who chime in with “grammar nazi” and other lame pathetic slanderous replies. If i was trying to type in a foreign language, say your language for example, and I got something wrong and you corrected me then I would see that as a positive, I would see it as someone taking the time to help me get a better understanding of a foreign language, but thin skinned people take it as an insult so should I just let them keep going, not being able to get the proper message across or help them achieve what they have started to do? I pick the latter every time.

          • John Lavis

When I wrote “prove it” I was directing that to the guy who said there was no south pole…if you could understand English you would know that but seeing as you take offence to having mistakes pointed out then I can only assume you enjoy sounding like an illiterate moron.

        • Hermit

I supposed you understood that it is an apology. Well, I am sorry for the whole inconvenience. yet, i want to find out who was that flat earther whom I considered being in your place.Because it must be an error.

          • John Lavis

No I do not understand that is an apology, an apology (where I come from ) starts with “I AM SORRY I made a mistake in accusing you for something someone else did” but seeing as you do not have a full grasp of the English language I will accept your “apology” and move on….good luck trying to find your “satanistic sinister false idea” poster

      • Josef Smith

        no

      • Pierce Nichols

There’s a research station on the South Pole. I’ve met several people who have been there and one that overwintered. I have personally performed celestial navigation… which could only work if the Earth is round.

        • Edward Vincent

Did you have to have a licence to go to a land that NO one owns ,And was told they could not go explore on their own because the fear of getting lost ? , Or was it because you may find some thing out , What about the Military being there ,What is there purpose ,If NO one owns the south pole ,Then it must long to everybody . What about the south Atlantic alliance , BETWEEN CERTAIN COUNTRIES , If NO one owns the land then it must be free for all to explore and see.

          • IrishPict700

Yeah actually it is free to explore. No, seriously. Get trained in arctic survival, practice it and go with fellow like minded thinkers in a group to the Antarctic. The only reason lots of people don’t do it is because its expensive and dangerous. Get enough money together and hire a boat. Pay someone enough money and they’ll sail you anywhere you want.

      • PunkRucker

Correct – People seem to miss the fact that the so-called S Pole is always frozen while the N Pole melts and freezes with the seasons. No symmetry on the ball ? Nothing to see for the sheep…

        • Mario

Do you really believe the earth is flat?

          • PunkRucker

Yes. All empirical evidence points to : 1. stationary earth 2. no curvature

          • Hermit

Which means that santos bonacci is right? Ahaha. And what empirical evidence? The one of the morons? What can a grasshoper see about the plains and mountains? What can a human see around? The earth is huge and the curvature is not visible from the ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l74GgsGuJW4

          • PunkRucker

He is right about Heliocentrism. But I see my response confused the crap out of you !

          • Hermit

            So what is the problem?

          • Mario

Do you understand what empirical evidence is? How do you explain the horizon if the earth is flat?

          • Mario

What about satellites? Gravity? And how can you claim, if you understand what empirical evidence is, that “all empirical evidence” points to either stationary or flat earth? As a matter of fact, all empirical evidence points the other way – that the earth is spheroid and orbits the sun.

How do you explain the shadow of the earth on the moon, which is obviously round. How do you explain the foucault pendulum if you believe the earth is stationary (and not rotating)? Or seasons? Ships coming over the horizon? The ability to circumnavigate the world either longitudinally or along latitudinally? The movement of stars over the changing of seasons, or in the course of one night? The change of shadows depending on your position on the earth? The spheroid shape many other planets and stars in our known universe?

I don’t ask these questions to be condescending, only to hopefully make you reconsider your ill-informed belief. I’m disappointed in whatever education system you went through – no one in the modern world should have such a disregard for science.

          • Jim Vigneault

HUH!!!!! how do you explain the horizon, if the earth is flat????? UH!!!! The word horizon comes from the word horizontal and water doesnt curve. The Horizon is always flat/level and it always rises to the eye of the observer. even at 120 000ft up.

passenger planes dont fly sideways and upside down or both at the same time. The curvature so a sphere of the size they claim we live on is 8inches per mile squared. 8inches x distance x distance. NO curvature can be found and flat earthers have been looking. Waterfalls not water flies, water droplets on a leaf, snow covered tree branches, bodies of water acting like mirrors, windless day, all buildings on earth are engineered to be vertically level, which common sense alone prove that is impossible on a ball, train tracks are flat. Do some research, so when you speak, you speak for yourself. Parrots are beautiful birds. Please dont be one. Common sense and trusting the senses you were given at birth in order to navigate through it and stay alive or academic indoctrination?

          • Mario

Actually, if you consider how a plane flies on an off-earth scale, they do fly multiple directions at once. However, because of a mythical property called gravity, they are able to maintain altitude relative to the surface (which is spheroid) of the earth. The curvature of the earth is visible from the ground, albeit only in very high places like mountains and extraordinarily high buildings.

What do you mean that the “horizon rises to the eye of the observer?” That doesn’t make sense, please explain.

If you scale the earth to the size of a cue ball, the earth is smoother than the cue ball (even considering Marianna’s trench and Mt Everest, the lowest and highest points on the planet). So, your argument about buildings is irrelevant. The vastness of Earth means that these surfaces do appear flat, but remember that the surface of the Earth is curved so measuring a train track as flat is only possible from someplace else, like space. If the train track were really and truly flat, and not conforming to the curve of the earth, why can we not see across the entire plains of the midwestern US? Why can’t I see all the way to the southern part of the Atlantic ocean when I’m in the middle of it? Answer: because the Earth is spheroid.

As a matter of fact, you yourself can validate the spheroid shape of the earth. Review every existing photograph of a lunar eclipse – you’ll notice that in every case the shadow of the Earth upon the moon is round. Well, you’ll also notice that this shape exists regardless of your position on the Earth – this would absolutely not be possible if the Earth were flat and the sun was ‘behind’ this flat Earth. The shadow would be more elliptical the further you went from the center of the “flat Earth.”

Ships ’emerging’ from the sea in the middle of the ocean is another point of proof – if the Earth were flat, they would just appear instantly at our ‘sight limit.’ But they don’t just appear, they seem to emerge… yet they aren’t actually emerging from under water. This is because they are cresting the horizon – tallest points first – which is only possible if the Earth is round.

The proof that the Earth is round is not debatable at all. Your points are all refuted by science – real science. I am not a parrot, though I wonder what you are if you really think that the Earth is flat… a troll perhaps?

          • Mario

Another simple experiment, if you can find a friend and a flat enough place, is to stand still. Have your friend walk directly away from you. Depending on their walking pace, in about 20 minutes or so your proof of the spherical shape of the earth will be provided when they start to disappear over the horizon, feet first. For someone who is about 6 feet in height, the horizon is about 3 miles away on a flat piece of land. If you live in the midwestern US, this is painfully obvious because of how flat the land is. Another simple place to see this is the Florida Turnpike – cars will disappear from your view over the horizon. Typically, buildings, hills, or plant life will obstruct the horizon from your view – but if you aren’t yourself ‘taking the pill’ of flat earth theory and ignoring such simple, repeatable science.. you will come up with some conspiracy or alternative fact that ‘explains’ why someone would disappear feet first over the horizon… though physics proves you terribly incorrect.

I engage in this conversation not to troll you or insult, but to hopefully shed a little light on truth for you and encourage you to, as you put it, see common sense. Science is only the definition of common sense. Science can explain every ‘flat earth phenomenon’ you’ve ‘cited,’ and can also provide you with a gorgeous, beautiful video of the spheroid earth from space. How anyone can argue against that is really troubling to me.

        • Mario

What does symmetry have to do with the earth being spherical? What does the climate of the South Pole versus the North Pole have to do with the earth being spherical? The North Pole freezes and melts because of the change of seasons. That being said, the North Pole is almost always frozen – Russians have had manned outposts on the floating ice for decades. The fact is that the ice that IS over the North Pole moves, so yes, you may see some of the Arctic ocean where the North Pole is, particularly during the warmer months.

The South Pole has permafrost, much like northern Russia, Alaska, northern Canada, Greenland, etc. because the South Pole is in the middle of a land mass (Antarctica).

          • PunkRucker

A sphere is symmetrical. You would expect to see similar conditions at both ends of a sphere exposed to the same solar input. See answer to Joseph above. Interesting fact – the southern hemisphere is actually supposed to get closer to the sun. Which doesn’t make any sense.

          • John

First off the Earth is not a perfect sphere, and while the Globe represents it tat way .. it is actually malformed. so wouldn’t have perfect symmetry. However, a simple test by traveling to points on the same longitude and similar latitudes disproves the FE map, even with the variance in distance due to the malformation it doesn’t reach the exponential distances that you would experience on the FE map (navigating the way you would on a globe ). Secondly the earth was circumnavigated in 1982 through the poles ….

          • Mario

The south pole is permanently frozen because of permafrost. The North Pole used to remain frozen, but changes in climate have led to a thaw and refreeze of some portions of the artic circle. Our poles are not perpendicular to the orbit of the earth around the sun, the axis is offset by a number of degrees (23.5), which contributes to the variations between weather in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The Southern hemisphere is closer to the sun during the winter months of the Northern hemisphere, and vice versa.

What doesn’t make sense is the argument and illogical belief that the earth is flat…

          • John Lavis

The earth does not spin on a perpendicular axis to the sun…it is slightly off centre and therefore why you would not see similar conditions at both ends. The earth is spinning on an angle.

          • PunkRucker

Yes John. Duh . The earth orbits the sun and swaps sides. You really gave that one a lot of thought !

          • John Lavis

Oh wait…is that….sarcasm?…that was awesome 🙂 some say it’s the lowest form of wit but I disagree…I believe it is the highest. Well F^5$ing done mate but I still think you missed the point.

        • RayPierreWhit

This is awesome! You guys are the best trolls ever!

        • Hermit

You are right. The monsters are among us and they are the flat earther satanists occultists of SANTOS BONACCI and other “astrotheologists”=satanists and every psychotic miserable soul…

          • PunkRucker

@ Hermit. Santos Bonacci knows his shit but he is also a follower of false egyptian ‘enlightenment’. Bear in min it is the Jesuits and RCC who have pioneered heliocentrism. hint hint

        • Joseph Terrell

Simply not true. Neither pole completely melts but both increase and recede with the seasons.

          • PunkRucker

Antarctica is permanently frozen – the average annual temperature is -49 °C (-56 °F): in the warmest month (January) it’s about -28 °C (-18 °F), while in the coldest month (July) it’s about -59.5 °C (-74.5 °F). The lowest recorded temperature is -83 °C (-117 °F), while the highest is -12 °C (10 °F). Arctic thaws and freezes with the seasons. The average Arctic winter temperature is -30° F (-34°C), while the average Arctic summer temperature is 37-54° F (3-12° C). Chalk and cheese. So you are the one telling tall tales.

          • Redhorseman

Antarctica is a continent. The Arctic ice is just frozen ocean water. Big difference.

        • Kal

Why does the earth need to be symmetrical to be spherical? The moon isn’t symetrical, neither are the other planets. Your argument proves nothing.

      • Hermit

THERE ARE TWO POLES : NORTH AND SOUTH POLE. YOU MUST EDUCATE YOURSELF BUT NOT IN THE FLATARRD MUD.

      • Jayson

Bad troll. Grow up and finish high school… Or go back and get your GED.

      • Linden.
      • David Peterson

I’ve been there moron, twice. Your education lacks realism.

      • Eric Epic Soto

        lmao, no south pole. Okay.

        • qwerty

read terry pratchett, if you want a flat earth story

      • Edward Vincent

They do not have eyes to see or ears to hear , let the fools be wise in their sight .

      • Fay

Yes, there is, and it’s even named the South Pole. It’s a tourist destination. What they do not have, is free exploration of what they call Antarctica.

    • Chris Skelley

Yes, people have gone that way. And maybe you’re thinking of the North Pole… there is no land mass at the northern-most spot on the globe, but there is an entirecontinent at the South Pole. It’s called Antarctica. Polar Bears live on the ice floes in the Arctic (North) and penguins live in the Antarctic (South).

      • Avril Gordon

        Mansplainer alert!!

        • Cammie Sturch

Sorry…how is that ‘mansplaining’? It was a valid point.

        • treynich87

Avril, I gave you a thumbs down for using a made up word.

        • treynich87

Avril, you are as dumb as the flat Earthers and you should feel bad.

        • treynich87

In fact, delete your comment, idiot.

      • Fay

Which people have circumnavigated north to south? Yes, there is land mass at the North Pole, and that is where the Earth’s magnetism is at its strongest. Perhaps that is why Polaris can stay in place there?

        • stephen waddock

“Perhaps that is why Polaris can stay in place there?”…wait, what? You do know Polaris DOES move, right?

    • Linden.

You’re dumb, BUT there is a south pole at least.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Pole

    • John
  • Ben Johnson

    The Earth is flat. 100%
Trust your eyes not the liars at NASA which is an anogram for SATAN.

    • John Lavis

How is NASA and anagram for SATAN? There is no “T” in NASA

      • Coco Levesque

        Or Santa? 😀

        • John Lavis

No one is talking about or mentioned Santa…do you inject yourself into conversations with ridiculous statements like this often?…do you crave some attention, no matter what kind? They have pills for that now you know.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

It’s a conversation about Flat Earth. Ridiculous statements are par for the course.

          • John Lavis

No it is not par for the course, there are some very “smart people” out there who believe the earth is flat and, sometimes, present very good arguments. To treat them as though they are idiots is not only insulting but the very wrong way you convince people of your argument (do you laugh and mock a child because it does not know quantum physics?), you would probably not even have their attention after insulting them and, hence. why Ben has not replied to my question, because there are a horde of “people” like you guys out there just waiting to pounce on them with insult after insult.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything, certainly not that the Earth isn’t flat. The whole thing is very silly.

          • John Lavis

Well if you are not trying to convince anyone of anything then why did you comment trying to convince me that ridiculous statements are par for the course? Kinda like saying “I don’t type in forums whilst typing in a forum”,
So you are not religious? Your God is science or the Christian God or Islam…which one?

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

I think the human race is actually an escaped slave race that escaped thousands of years ago and crash landed here. We were never meant to govern ourselves.

          • John Lavis

So Zechariah Stichin makes you hard?…That’s awesome you have a hero a hero who has been proven that his translation of Sumerian was nothing more than dribble or incorrect for the intellectually minded. So who did we escape from? The anunnaki or lizard people or the greys perhaps? which one holds your belief?

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

            Worse. Alien clowns.

          • John Lavis

So it is attention…you poor thing, mummy and daddy didn’t give you any attention as a child and you just never grew up? I feel sorry for you…for about 10 seconds and then life goes on 🙂 …been nice chatting with you, I have always wondered what meeting a troll would be like…not sure what all the hype was about.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

Nope. I’m merely treating a discussion about flat Earth with exactly the amount of respect that it is due.

          • John Lavis

I never claimed the earth was flat. I started off by asking how NASA was an anagram for SATAN to someone else and that is where you injected yourself with your ADD/ADHD.
Have you ever been outside your own country?

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

Many times. Also, I’m already bored by you. Must be the ADD/ADHD. Bye.

          • John Lavis

Oh so it’s now me that has the ADD/ADHD lol having trouble coming up with something original of your own?
Next time you may think twice before making stupid comments and trying to display your math’s prowess by claiming a cube has 8 corners…Oh btw I don’t believe you have ever set foot outside your own town let alone country. 🙂

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

No, I won’t think twice next time.

          • John Lavis

Correct, not corners. But then I already wrote that to you in the above post or it was noted in one of the links I supplied but you obviously did not look at because you strike me as a person who doesn’t like to be wrong or have it show to them that they are wrong. This attitude will hurt you in life but I am sure you have worked that out already.

          • Hermit

You reverse the truth, and this is sinister. Only the primitive tribes thought that the Earth is flat, because they can’t/couldn’t see further. The earth SEEMED flat because of the limited horizon. Masons and jesuits and jews (Old Testament naive ideas) are flat earther’s. Flattared are scared by a sphere which revolves, they feel unsafe. On the contraty, the shere is the divine shape and it is the totality of everything. Flat Earth is an idea of the unsafe people, who avoid severe thought. Naivety.Against the natural laws. And scary indeed.

          • John Lavis

No one is talking about a flat earth whatsoever. If you had bothered to read you would know that.

          • Hermit

I do not understand what you want to say.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

He wants you to say he’s right. He wants it so bad…

          • Hermit

Flattards are persistent, they just want to be justified. But it is a matter of reality, not opinion. And the earth is not flat. And we can’t do anything for that…

          • John Lavis

I don’t need admonishment from you or anyone else. I made my statement and you disagree.. you are right in your mind and I am right in my mind and the mathematical world. I certainly do not need any form of recognition from you, I was trying to help out by letting you know you were wrong but that is a mistake on the internet as so many snowflakes like you get offended so much if they are shown to have made a mistake…I am glad I won’t see idiots like you grow up and take over the reigns as the world will go to the dogs.

          • John Lavis

Nine days ago (below this thread) I pointed out how illiterate your post was whilst you were attacking the literacy of someone else’s post…now you scroll up here and want to attack me on here (7 days later) like you just joined the conversation?…go away moron…You’re just upset because not only are you grammatically challenged you are an idiot who cannot read.

          • Pierce Nichols

There is no such thing as a good argument that the Earth is flat. The fact that the Earth is roughly spherical (the degree of oblateness is relatively small) has been established beyond a reasonable doubt for some 2500 years. It is a fact visible in dozens of ways both subtle and gross.

People who claim the Earth is flat do not deserve respect. They’re either lying or so entirely disconnected from reality that they are not capable of forming any opinion worthy of consideration.

          • John Lavis

You obviously haven’t watched the videos I have and heard the questions I have heard asked in regards to the flat earth. I am not advocating a flat earth as I have mentioned before I have already traversed the earth several times so I have been up 33 thousand feet in a 747 and seen it for myself. All I was saying is the way some of them present their arguments for a flat earth are quite clever and can make you think. One guy calculated the distance across a bay was x miles and with the curvature of the earth, the land should (by his calculations) have dropped away by 6 or 8 feet and he claims he should not have been able to see the ground of the bay on the other side when he could. Whilst his maths may come into question, the argument was presented very well. Do you understand now?

          • Pierce Nichols

I understand that you are impressed by arguments from ignorance made my professional paste eaters.

          • John Lavis

“Made my professional paste eaters?”…lol I am impressed by your illiteracy and at the ability to make an account on here. You obviously have reading problems too as no where did I mention anything I saw as reading material, it was stated they were videos, so Pierce before you get on your soapbox about ignorance perhaps you should take the time to fully read what is written before you start your diatribe.:)

          • Redhorseman

John, there’s a significant difference between “dropped” and obscured. If you’re standing on a line that is tangent with the surface of a circle/sphere, there’s a formula for how much that circle will diverge from the flat line you’re standing on. This is the amount Flat Earth apologists will quote.
But the thing on the other side of the bay is also standing on a flat line on the surface of that circle, so the formula for how high the “hump” of curvature between the two of you is different. Further, your eyes are likely some amount greater than 5′ above that flat line, so that hump has to get pretty high before it obscures your vision of any part of whatever is on the other side.
So, while the surface would “drop” away from a straight line by 8″ over 1 mile, 32″ over 2, 72″ over 3, and 128″ over 4 miles, the “hump” between you would be 2″ high at 1 mile, 8″ at 2, 18″ at 3, and 32″ at 4 miles — just beginning to obscure your line of sight to your buddy’s toes from your eyes 60″ above the ground.
When they refute curvature with this argument, it is unlikely they put their telescope/laser at the surface of the water.

          • John Lavis

As I said I am not advocating for a flat earth…why you would quote this to me is a little puzzling as I have already said I have been up in planes and travelled back and forth from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere and seen the differences in the sky at night. I know the earth is a sphere and never disputed that fact.

          • Redhorseman

John, I wasn’t arguing with you. I’ve been in here long enough to know where you stand on this. I was just clarifying what you said you had heard, for the good of anyone reading. I keep seeing FEers parrot that argument (including Punkrocker somewhere along in here), and it’s clear they have no clue where the number comes from.

          • John Lavis

Ahh ok sorry champ, my mistake…I misunderstood you…apologies 🙂 Yes I agree I have seen many use formulas and equations and yes they seem to just pluck numbers from anywhere but their presentation is fairly good, if they put that energy into something a little more constructive then they would be impressive people but to be duped into thinking there is a flat earth is a waste of a lot of their time and “energy”.

          • Redhorseman

I agree with them on one point: “Someone” is keeping them distracted so they can’t accomplish what they otherwise could do, and making money off all of this, but it’s not the secret world shadow government.

          • Ray

No they don’t. They’ve never produced a single good argument…ever. The best they have ever been able to come up with is “why does it look flat”. There’s absolutely no science behind it whatsoever and everything they attempt to come up with has been EASILY disproved. (well, not quite as easily as your ridiculous comments, but close)

      • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

Well there are many variations I guess and I could rattle of some more and demand you use your imagination also but none of mine would include blasphemy and no I am not religious in any way.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

Where are the four corners of the earth? Do not people search the four corners…of the earth? There are no corners on a disc or a globe…?

    • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

The Earth is a cube, there are actually 8 corners.

      • John Lavis

If the earth was a cube then there would 24 corners…maths not a strong suit for you?…Each cube face would have four corners and here are 6 faces on a cube. 🙂

        • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

          More of NASA’s lies.

          • John Lavis

Nope sorry champ…just simple maths. If you listen in school you might have worked that out before you posted that a cube has 8 corners, still there is a chance for you to listen tomorrow :).

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus
          • John Lavis

A square has 4 corners…a cube has six squares for faces or sides…simple maths makes that 4 x 6 but here is a source for you to understand it better
            https://www.reference.com/math/many-corners-square-7a5075cf9971b001
This one explains why a cube has 24 angles (corners because you like that word)
and 8 vertices or points where the 3 corners meet.
            https://www.reference.com/math/many-edges-cube-b3c41c611988e0a6
And also this one will confirm that a cube is made up of 4 squares consisting of 24 corners…this is all basic maths…are you really this dim or do you just hate being wrong?

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

I picture you behind your keyboard, red faced and pissed off. Meanwhile, I’m laughing my ass off. Have a nice life, dude. And a cube has 8 corners, and the Earth is a spheroid.

          • John Lavis

Aww you have an imagination too…you know your arse doesn’t really come off when you laugh. A cube has 24 corners and I have proved that to you but if you want to run around shouting your nonsense to the world then who am I to stop you. I already have a great life thanks champ, I’ve been around the world twice and lived in 28 countries…try stepping out from your parents basement now and then as there is a whole world out there matey.

          • Peter Hinchliffe

            8, seriously its 8.

          • Peter Hinchliffe

I get your point btw, but you are looking at it from each side individually, look at it from the outside and its 8.

          • John Lavis

Even looking from the outside (which I was) a cube still has six faces with four corners in each 6×4=24. I don’t know why you are having so much trouble with this.

          • Jayson

            Many are just bad trolls.

          • gandalfe

Yes, there are 6 faces. Yes, each face has 4 corners. But (and this is obviously the point you’re trying so hard to obfuscate) each face shares each of its corners with 2 other faces. Ergo, (6*4)/3=8.

          • John Lavis

ooo the wise and mighty gandalfe speaks 🙂 No one is trying to obfuscate anything. I said there were 24 corners and you agree but why divide by three?…Just because a face shares its corner with 2 other faces doesn’t make it any less of a corner.
            Ergo there are 24 corners.

          • gandalfe

You and your wife share a house. How many houses do you have?

          • John Lavis

And you accuse me of obfuscating lol…go away 🙂

          • gandalfe

I’m just trying to point out that sharing doesn’t change how many of something there are. Sorry if you’re unable to get that point.

          • John Lavis

No you are trying to be a dick and do not want to be wrong…we live on the outside of the earth not the inside so to liken the earth to a cube wold represent 24 corners as we do not look at the inside of the earth/cube as the other names you use argue.

          • gandalfe

OK, I get it. You’re being argumentative about the difference between a corner and a vertex. I mean, language changes, but it’s an important distinction in a lot of cases. I (like most people) was being OK with using the common vernacular – I mean, that’s why it’s common.

But you completely fucking lost me with talking about the earth, there.

          • John Lavis

Quote” OK, I get it. You’re being argumentative about the difference between a corner and a vertex. I mean, language changes” Unquote
The word corner was used not vertex.
            Quote”
But you completely fucking lost me with talking about the earth, there.
            “Unquote
That is what happens when you jump into a conversation (not your own) and start mouthing off at how clever you are and how wrong I am without having the full knowledge of the origin of the conversation, even though its right there in black and white for you to read….that’s just simply lazy (shouting from the back of the class by the idiot who thinks he knows something). Some advice?…read what is actually being discussed next time before you interject with you enormous brain and vast wealth of knowledge as someone might learn something from you, even me, but not today.

          • gandalfe

I think the problem here is one of definitions. You are defining corners as it relates to 2 dimensional objects – but we are talking about a 3 dimensional object.

          • John Lavis

I’m defining?…Nope it is google that defines a corner as a place or angle where TWO sides or edges meet.

            corner
            ˈkɔːnə/
            noun
noun: corner; plural noun: corners; noun: corner kick; plural noun: corner kicks
            1.
a place or angle where two sides or edges meet.”Jan sat at one corner of the table”

          • gandalfe

Whereas Mirriam Webster defines it as:

1 a :the point where converging lines, edges, or sides meet :angle
b :the place of intersection of two streets or roads
c :a piece designed to form, mark, or protect a corner

          • John Lavis

The basic and first definition of a corner is where two sides/lines meet. Google also goes on to define it in numerous other ways such as cornering a market etc but that is not the discussion is it. If I take the first definition you give I could draw a line and then another line to meet that line forming one longer line, that is not a corner.

          • Tom Bombadil

There are 8 intersection points on a cube.

          • John Lavis

No one is arguing that…but well done for pointing that out

          • John Lavis

Correct and there are 24 points where two lines meet to form an edge. How many corners are there in the letter “Y” ? BTW you start your argument I hope you have read the origin of why this discussion came about as I do not want to go through this again with someone else who has come in halfway through uninformed.

          • John Lavis

There were no stipulations made when nob jockey made his claim. There (as I have said before and will make this my last time) are 6 faces on a cube and each face has 4 corners. 6×4=24…Even though we, as humans call the corner of a room where three lines intersect “a corner” it does have a special word in maths and that is not corner…I have spent enough time on this and, sadly, if you don’t get it by now then I am afraid you are never going to get it and I would just waste my time….seeing as I do have a life this is not something I wish to do. You may now have the last word as that is the trait you have shown. Quote”When three or more lines intersect in one point, they are concurrent. The point at which they intersect is the point of concurrency. …The medians are concurrent at a point called the centroid.” Unquote

          • Tom Bombadil

Apparently, he is looking at it from the flat earth perspective — everything is 2 dimensional.

          • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

            BUT MATHS THO

          • Ray Edwards

Count them. There are 24 corners. 3 for each of the 8 vertices.

          • Peter Hinchliffe

I get your point, in fact you are not wrong but neither is 8 and its far more reasonable surely to look at the whole object, especially a symmetrical one from an outside perspective rather than treating its different faces independently. So from that view its 8, you could use your view in a literal sense, but in the functioning world it has to be 8.

          • Jayson

            Except that’s a fallacy.

          • FierFolw

And now you’re taking piss on ADD/ADHD fuck off bruv

          • John Lavis

I aint ya bruv…literacy skills not your strongest suit?

          • Theuns Kruger

That’s what the Illuminati want you to believe…

          • Dieter Vanlangenaker

Dude it has 8 corners, each face shares corners with the faces next to it. So it means it has 8 3D corners. So John Lavis, go back to school you flat earther. you suggest 2 dimensional corners but a cube is 3 dimensional. its 2^N (with N beeing the number of dimensions)

          • John Lavis

The words 3d corners were not used, in fact the word corners was used and there are 24, a square has 4 corners or right angles but they are still a corner and in the words of Google a corner is “a place or angle where two sides or edges meet.”….2 edges…not 3. You are not going to change my mind and I don’t need to go back to school fool…below is your link to the definition of the word “corner”
            https://www.google.com.au/search?dcr=0&source=hp&q=define+corner&oq=define+corner&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0l10.1339.3705.0.3822.14.12.0.0.0.0.360.1715.0j1j3j2.6.0….0…1.1.64.psy-ab..8.6.1714.0..35i39k1j0i131k1.0.MdVdPakEfek

For fucks sake, draw a cube and count the corners yourself.
            There are only eight.
You can not count a corner more than once.

          • John Lavis

Obviously you did not read my above post nor go to the link I supplied…a cube has 24 corners and no one is counting any of them twice. It’s not my fault you are a moron. A corner is where 2…i repeat 2 lines meet…not 3 lines you idiot…2 lines

          • Adam Casey

            you are simply wrong, fuckboy

          • John Lavis

Fuckboy? lol…I see how you try to win an argument and it is a tactic employed by most with limited minds that run around on the internet as very important people who are never wrong. Feel better?

They say that thi masons/illuminati don’t want you to know that the earth is flat! hahaha

          • Hank Moody

Give a mathematician and an engineer a problem. You are 10′ away from your willing partner. How many times would you have to half the distance between you to get to your partner. The mathematician responds “mathematic theory proves that you will never get to your partner”. The engineer responds 10-12 times and i’m plenty close enough”. Perspecvtive is another way of looking at something. It’s not magic.

          • John Lavis

Pretty close is not getting to your partner though is it and that was the solve, so whilst perspective maybe your argument for thinking a cube has 8 corners, it actually has 24 and if you were comparing those 2 numbers (8 and 24) to 3 million then its pretty close but no cigar and why we have maths in engineering and no engineering in maths.

          • Jayson

            You got better? Lets see.

I can’t believe you idiots are arguing about how many corners are on a cube.

The four “corners” of the earth is a reference to the four ordinal points of the compass.

    • carecanada

Okay, now that we know about the four corners of the earth, how do we get to the “ends of the earth’? I would like to go there, I think it would be an enlightening and educational trip.

    • Edward Vincent

You are so dumb it shows , The 4 CORNERS , would you like to put a ROUND FLAT DISC ON THE SQUARE 4 CORNERED RECORD PLAYER ? , And the edge of the disc is raised because of a ICE WALL that holds the water in . ? Get it , CONFINED withing the ice wall is water ,and then in places there is land , .You may say why do we not fall of the edge , I say , How many people have been reported killed by falling of the edge of a supposedly Flat Earth , They could always fall OFF A BALL THOUGH ?
But of course Do not listen to me , But you will of course do your OWN RESEARCH will you not , Naaa, I do not think you have the brains to do any research , But it would be nice if you did .

  • Super Attack-Mode Jesus

This I would watch. Just make it more entertaining than the dudes looking for the imaginary Bigfoot.

  • PunkRucker

Educated thinking people are waking up to the lies. No pics of earth from space. EARTH IS FLAT.

    • L. Ivanov

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the first photos of Earth from space were taken more than 10 years bfore CGI was even invented.

Yes, they are quite real. And no, Earth is not flat. Only a complete moron could believe in this crap.

      • PunkRucker

Again you offer no evidence.Do you perhaps own an android phone ? Can it take video ? Please show me video of the spinning earth from space . There isn’t any. NASA fakery has been exposed by professional photography analysts. There is no debate there.

        • Robert Smith

If you climbed a high enough mountain and looked at the horizon you will see for yourself the curvature. I have and there’s no lens distortion – it was through my own eyes.

          • PunkRucker

Interesting how people are able to see different things. I have done a lot of high altitude climbing myself and have never seen curvature. I can’t see curvature from a plane either. The real proof for me is high altitude balloon footage (plenty on youtube) which provided it doesn’t have a fish -eye lens also shows no curvature. I am an Architect and have used surveying equipment (theodloite) to measure for curvature – there isn’t any. I would suggest you take a pic on your nexy hike and check for curvature on that with a ruler – that’s what I did anyway.

          • Ray

///I have done a lot of high altitude climbing myself and have never seen curvature. I can’t see curvature from a plane either. /// Yeah, you just proved yourself to be a liar. Any further discussion from you is already proved to be BS since we now know you have absolutely no problem lying out of your a** in order to “win” a debate. You just lost all credibility, liar.

          • PunkRucker
          • PunkRucker

The difference between me and you Ray is 1. I have a brain . 2. I have manners

          • Ray

Everyone, notice how this idiot has no problem lying through his teeth? Notice how he purposely added “provided it doesn’t have a fish -eye lens” so that he can simply say “fisheye lens” when someone does post an image or video of a curved horizon? I’ve seen MANY videos from high altitude balloons and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has a curved horizon. So PunkFuc**er, show us a video of a high altitude balloon camera showing a flat horizon, I DARE you. (shouldn’t be much of a problem since you say that’s what convinced you the most) We’ll all be waiting. (but I certainly won’t be holding my breath)

        • Jimmy John

          Here you go:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFrP6QfbC2g

Of course, you will claim it’s “CGI” but…

          • PunkRucker

Thanks for posting Jimmy. I wonder why they have to ANIMATE it with the zooming in and turning at the beginning with a still image ?? Why can’t we just get the raw footage ? Any suggestions ? Ok then suddenly it starts spinning – the speed again is not real time – can’t we get real time ? Why speed it up so much we can’t see it ? This is supposedly shot from a million miles away from a moving satellite which they claim is ‘hovering’ – I can’t get any hard data on its speed ? Just bear in mind again that the earth is supposedly travelling at 30km /second – and yet this ‘image’ is perfectly still. To my mind the clouds and albedo are not realistic ( I have some experience with 3d studio). NO stars – or anything else in camera aside from the earth ? This is the same satellite that captured the moon moving in front of the earth – you should check that one out as well. So Jimmy yeah – so many questions. I’m not convinced.I truly beleive this to be CGI – and poorly done at that.

          • Jimmy John

Well, because the satellite doesn’t have video cameras, they are still cameras. It isn’t designed to stream video, there’s no need for it.

            https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/from-a-million-miles-away-nasa-camera-shows-moon-crossing-face-of-earth

If you want a live view, there is often a live stream from the ISS.

          • PunkRucker

I started collecting shots of the earth from space 16 years ago when I built my first desktop and still believed NASA to be on the level. It didn’t take long for me to realize that there just aren’t that many pics and that NASA uses the same ones over and over again. My point is there are supposedly 10000 satellites orbiting earth. There should be literally millions of pics. They just don’t exist. If you want to have a good laugh read this : http://centerforaninformedamerica.com/moondoggie/

          • Jimmy John

the answer is simple, and you should be able to figure it out.

Okay, I’ll tell yah. space on a satellite is at a premium as well as the weight and when most of the satellites up there are communications satellites, there have no need for a camera so hence, they don’t have one.

          • Jimmy John

PS: Your numbers are way off. There are about 4500 satellites orbiting with about 1400 or so still operating. Nowhere near 10,000.

            https://www.pixalytics.com/sats-orbiting-earth-2016/

          • Daniel Harvison

Leaving NASA aside, what about the Russian space agency? The European Space Agency? China? Japan? Hell, even we Australians used to stick satellites up there, so tell me now, are they all “in” on the “conspiracy”? The one that serves no reasonable purpose?

    • Daniel Harvison

Wat? There are so many pics of earth from space. What are you on about? We educated people have to deal with you trolls all the time, it makes it a little difficult.

  • Jon Stewart Blake

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The flat earthers think one way and the round earthers think another and the question we need to be asking ourselves is why are we discussing this preposterous idea in the first place and who really gives a shit?!? Isn’t there more important things going on right now than worrying about the idiots who think the world is flat?!? I mean seriously!!! C’mon!!!!

    • PunkRucker

Good question. Because it is a profound question. What is creation and how do we fit in ? If this doesn’t bother you then carry on regardless…

  • L. Ivanov

Flat earth’s days are numbered. In 10 years it will only be remembered as a silly joke, just like that “December 2012 Mayan calendar apocalypse” thing, which died overnight.

I feel sorry for the people who support this absurd pseudo-science. Realizing you spent so many years supporting a lie can be quite taxing on the mind.

  • Theuns Kruger

I’m all for a reality TV show to find the edge of the world! The contestants should agree to two conditions… First, if they find the edge of the world they get a billion dollars. Secondly, if they fail to find the edge they should be put in stocks in Times Square or Trafalgar Square or maybe at the Vatican, where people can throw rotten tomatoes and faeces at them for wasting everyone’s time. I’d watch that.

  • Aidan Lee

the earth is flat psychologically. you cannot see x-rays without technology but you do not doubt that it is there (light).

  • Kent D. Madsen

This would make a fascinating series, especially when, at the end, they discovered the earth was…round!

  • BarimoreStrongReiss

im down, put me in there, i’d love to be in a reality show, it’d kill. it’d be a trip, and a learning experience. if people think this sounds like a bad idea, they need to evaluate how many people actually believe the world is flat. i can advocate either. they both have questions that lead to more questions, i want to be in this so bad.

  • http://jjchandler.wordpress.com/ Jerry Chandler

Look, just find out where the flat earthers are getting their lobotomies and shut the place down. Problem solved.

  • https://twitter.com/NP_Lima NPLima

There’s a company in Russia that takes you to the edge of space on a Mig29. It should be cheaper (and more exciting) than B.O.B.’s proposed satellite network for flat earth proponents. http://www.migflug.com/en/jet-fighter-flights/flying-with-a-jet/mig-29-edge-of-space.html

  • Chris Skelley

Have any flat earth people ever traveled anywhere? I don’t understand how you think there is ‘an end’ somewhere… Why can we travel either East or West, and end up in the same place? How do we travel in the same direction (say start out going North) and keep going long enough that we end up in the Southern Hemisphere, and eventually come back to where we started?

    • Redhorseman

They believe every airline pilot is in on the conspiracy.

      • PunkRucker

Pilots are coming out for flat earth. Fact is if you are an airline pilot and publicaly declare flat earth you are likely to be fired.

        • Redhorseman

That makes sense, since it would show a profound lack of understanding for how to get the passengers from Point A to Point B.

          • PunkRucker

It only makes sense to someone who is incapable of thought beneath the surface level.

        • Redhorseman

Especially those direct flights between Sydney, Johannesburg and Santiago. The pilots have to keep quiet about the passenger jets that fly 2400 miles/hr

          • PunkRucker

There are no direct flights. I know because I have traveled from SA to Australia.( I live in SA) But good point – flight paths in the SH don’t work on the globe map.Why do I need to stop off in Dubai which is in the NH if I am travelling to Australia ?? Not to mention SH GPS – which is US Navy by the way. NO live tracking of that over the southern seas. You trust the US Navy to tell you the whole story ? You just keep sucking that cool aid and pretending the world is an honest place 😉 Take a careful look at this mr know it all : https://www.flightradar24.com/-12,4.58/2

          • Redhorseman

Well that’s embarrassing. I just looked at your link and see LAN801 direct from Santiago (Chile) to Auckland (New Zealand), a mere 9653 km (about 6000 miles), and ANZ31, direct from Buenos Aires to Auckland, a distance of 10,312 km. Both are in the air as I type this.
I assume you wouldn’t link me to a site that would show me fake airplanes… But just in case, this landed earlier today: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA27 Qantas QFA27, direct from Sydney to Santiago.
Hello me understand, since I’m not capable of thought beneath the surface level (which I assume you meant in the most politick manner, since you pointed out elsewhere you have manners)

          • PunkRucker

Yeah – it seems you have a real problem with comprehension. Thousands of planes flying over the sea in the NH hemisphere and nothing in the south. Shame. My manners have run dry smart ass. Using words like ‘politick’ tell me all I need to know about what kind of intellectual wannabe you are.

          • Redhorseman

I comprehended that: 1) you stated there are no direct flights and 2) I just pointed out 3 that are either in the air or landed earlier today.
There are more, but I can see that you’ve toward dismissing me as pompous and ignorant, so I won’t bother shouting into the wind. You’ve got plenty of other folk on here to entertain yourself.

          • PunkRucker

Look it gets tiring when you present yourself as the rational mature party who is willing to look at the evidence AFTER you ignore what I have already stated. I have booked two DIRECT FLIGHT to Perth form Joburg and it turned out not to be direct. These so-called direct flights have been exposed as BOGUS. But if you want to ignore someone who has first hand experience of this then go ahead ! if seeing a webpage has more weight with you then so be it.My point is that if you don’t find that map extremely revealing then I am done here. Yeah exactly. Fucking brainwashed sheep in every paddock ! lol

          • Redhorseman

Well, I’d rely on my own experience, when I flew direct from LA to Sydney (and back) in Feb, 2000 as a sales award from my employer at the time, but as you’ve clearly figured out I must have been renditioned along the way, to forget my layover somewhere and turn my wristwatch back, i figured you’d consider me an unreliable witness.

          • PunkRucker

LA to Sydney is not a SH flight so ? There’s no problem with that route on a flat earth map. But Joburg to Sydney is simply too far so they stop off in Dubai. Which is pretty much a straight line on Gleasons. It doesn’t make sense on a globe map though – why fly all the way up to Dubai and then all the way back down again ? You should look into emergency landings – pretty revealing.

          • Redhorseman

I don’t know how to continue. You are claiming that these flight routes, sold as direct, which have existed at least two decades have always had excuses to make emergency landings, every single time, and passengers think nothing of it.
We cannot have a conversation if your answer to everything is that the entire world (except the devotees to the Flat Earth movement) is lying. That’s just agreeing to disagree, because there is no basis on which to begin an exchange of information.
At some point, with instant sharing of even the most mudane details of peoples’ lives via literally BILLIONS of cell phone cameras across the world, overwhelming numbers of voices would have said “hey, I’m noticing a trend here” or “Hey, this distance is way different than what it’s supposed to be” or “Hey, there’s a whole bunch of people with guns lining that frozen continent down there.”
A couple dozen people couldn’t get their story straight to keep the Watergate scandal from ballooning out of control and costing a President his job.
With state-funded radicals willing to slaughter millions of innocents to battle the “Great Satan” you don’t think one tactic to try to bring down the western world would be to point out a vast conspiracy centuries old about the very planet we exist on?

          • PunkRucker

No you misunderstand. I said you should look into unscheduled emergency stops. My point is that the emergency stops reveal the true map because they land at the closest destination en-route. You will see that these emergency stops are way off the designated globe-map routes. The rest of your post is interesting. It details an inability to understand how conspiracies work. Let me ask you who do you think did 911 ? Who do you think murdered JFK ? In my own experience I only got into conspiracy after studying 911 for 5 years and becoming convinced that the whole thing was a very well-executed conspiracy. For something like flights from Joburg to Perth there is no doubt that they deliberately mislead people with the claim of ‘direct flights’ and I have found that out for myself. Once one realizes that there is deliberate deception involved with something big like 911 then it becomes easier to imagine that deception is being used elsewhere. The cosmological deception is a massive one which reaches into science and education and is governed by the hidden hands of the Masons and Jesuits themselves. It is no surprise that George Lemaitre was a Jesuit priest. You need only look at and compare the architecture of the Vatican, City of London and Washington DC to see that these centres of power are designed and controlled by the same powers and use the same sun-worship symbology.I am an Architect so have been studying this stuff for many years. Scott Onstott does a great job of explaining some of these threads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEe4hOMKvrI

          • Redhorseman

So, as I mentioned previously, we’re at an impasse because everyone except the handful of people who believe as you do are lying or being controlled. I’ll add myself to that list because as a licensed Architect and educator in building science, a discussion about 9/11 conspiracies is a non-starter for me. How surprised am I that founders/leaders of the country were Freemasons? About as surprised as I am that the architects of important buildings in the cities you mentioned used similar styles and ornamentation.
But none of the conspiracy talk really matters if it’s about a model that just fundamentally doesn’t work, which I also know is a non-starter topic with you.

          • PunkRucker

“we’re at an impasse because everyone except the handful of people who believe as you do are lying or being controlled” – not at all . Are you not living proof that isn’t the case ?? “I’ll add myself to that list because as a licensed Architect and educator in building science, a discussion about 9/11 conspiracies is a non-starter for me” – what are you saying here ? That you believe the official narrative?? Well fuck me then. Have you studied the NIST report ?? You do realize no steel -framed building has ever collapsed from fire in the History of construction right ?? Your dismissal as an educator is just horrifying. You should not be teaching anyone.”used similar styles and ornamentation.” – this goes waaaaay beyond style and ornamentation. Your post has left me feeling physically ill. Just blows my mind. I strongly recommend watching the video. It is because of teachers like you that the world is full of zombies incapable of analytical thought. Absolutely disgusting. If you only knew how wrong you were and how much damage you are doing. http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/?p=160038

          • Redhorseman

“Have you studied the NIST report ??” Yes. Have you? The impact this report had on the structural and fire codes I work with literally every day was significant. It further prompted a research survey for which NIST hired Jensen-Hughes (one of the world’s largest Fire Protection Engineering firms), to document multi-story building collapses, due to fire, among multiple construction types.
“You do realize no steel -framed building has ever collapsed from fire in the History of construction right ??” This is patently false. There are even steel-reinforced concrete buildings that have collapsed due to fire (besides the WTC towers). Exposed-steel buildings are much more easily destroyed than these.
“Your dismissal as an educator is just horrifying. You should not be teaching anyone.” I would say that if you do no believe steel needs to be protected from fire, you should not have a license to design buildings that humans will inhabit.

          • PunkRucker

Yes I have. So you are aware then that the tests they did on full scale members did not fail the members.”This is patently false” – yeah whatever – cite something or stop lying. If you had any experience with multistory building you would know that the steel all has to be fire rated to minimum 2 hrs. The floors are hermetically sealed to stop vertical fire spread. I wont get into all the evidence as you obviously aren’t interested in the truth. It is no surprise that 1. you lecture but don’t build 2. you lecture on ‘style and ornament.’ Why do I waste my time with you idiots.

          • Redhorseman

            – I have found no documentation of tests on full-scale members (if you’re referring to Towers 1 & 2). If you have some reference you can share, please do.

            http://www.nfpa.org/News-and-Research/Publications/NFPA-Journal/2009/May-June-2009/Features/Out-of-the-Ashes

            http://peer.berkeley.edu/events/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Prof_Aghakouchak-Seminar-on-Plasco-Building-Fire-Collapse-June-6th_4-5p_-Room-502-Davis-Hall-UC-Berkeley-Campus.pdf
            – None of these buildings started with a plane slamming into the side of them, so any fireproofing they had is unlikely to have been knocked off to expose the steel, and none of them had a bunch of the structure and shafts sheared open/off by a fuselage before the fires started.
            – Required rating doesn’t matter if the material applied isn’t there to protect it from a fire. Floor separation doesn’t matter if the shafts are ripped open and then fail to resist the flaming stuff dumped down them, and the explosive result.
Codes have changed since then (mostly in IBC 2009) to mandate increased impact resistance for both spray-applied fireproofing and elevator hoistways, specifically because both of those things failed in the WTC towers.
            – If I have ever lectured on “style and ornament” on purpose, I sure don’t recall.

          • PunkRucker

Listen dude. I just couldn’t be bothered. If you have investigated 911 and concluded that 2 planes brought down the twin towers and building 7 then you are way beyond hope.

          • Redhorseman

So, in conclusion: You gave me links to propaganda videos for conspiracy theorists. You gave me a link to a flight information page, then told me the information on it is lies. You called me a lot of names, questioned my qualifications to do my various jobs, and said that I’m stupid. You answered absolutely none of my specific questions. And, now because that strategy didn’t convert me to your way of thinking, I’m hopeless.
Sounds like a party I’m really missing out on.

          • PunkRucker

I’m sorry to disappoint you. I just don’t see the point. You’re an Architect and you support the 911 lie.

    • Redhorseman

It would have to be every Telecom company too, because they say satellites don’t do what they claim they do.

        • Daniel Harvison

I have the hardest time believing you’re not some kind of troll or someone having us on for your own amusement. There is quite literally nothing backing up any of your absurd claims, and the ideas presented by flat earthers and other “denialist” type groups are beyond belief. So what’s your game? Why do you push this flat earth rubbish?

          • PunkRucker

I am sincere.Investigate before you ruminate. Cognitive dissonance is strong with the sheep.

          • Redhorseman

I do have to say I’ve learned much about the movement since this discussion began. You seem to be one of the most coherent that I’ve seen online to-date. Most devolve into calling people some combination of Satan-worshipping Mason-puppets before even reaching a coherent point. Your calling everyone sheep is quite mild in comparison.
The most spiteful exchanges I’ve seen are between fellow devotees fighting over whose understanding of the revered map is correct.

    • PunkRucker

Because if you travel east-west you are inscribing a circle around the magnetic north pole. That’s why there is no N-S circumnavigation.

  • Linden.

Look Flat Earther’s actually believe, that every image of the earth, is a lie that NASA and it’s “associates” created for some fucking conspiracy reason. Like… ONE falt earth believer should go take a HIGH ALTITUDE flight in a MIG.. take some photos.. and show everyone that the earth is in fact.. ROUND.. that should annihlate this conspiracy. <3

HA! the earth is concave and what we call outer space is actually the inner soil in which our upside down brains can take root.

  • Darwin Duckman

dear flat earther please in a very descriptive diagram show me how your flat earth Sun works

  • Darwin Duckman

Also if The earth is flat and there is a global conspiracy to make everyone believe the world is round what is the reason for this conspiracy?

  • Darwin Duckman

I think Flat Earther’s watched Dark City too many times

  • Ronald Stepp

You can’t take them all into space but you can wait for them to die. We need a giant registry of everyone who thinks the Earth is flat, and then create a Midnight Clock that instead of counting the seconds to the end of the world, counts down as Flat Earthers die. When we reach Midnight, the Flat Earth problem will be solved.

  • Ronald Stepp

So if the Earth IS flat, and the Sun is only 400 miles away, how do we even HAVE a part of the planet (poles) where the temperature drops to -129.28 degrees F while it gets to 90 or 100 degrees F in “North America?”

  • Kyle Mohr

Problem with Flat Earthers is that neither of those solutions would work. If you brought them to the South Pole, they would simply say that they were paid actors, or that they would never air the actual discovery, etc. And if you did launch them into space, the Flat Earthers themselves up there would simply claim you put them in a massive simulator to simulate space and zero gravity and everything. Of course you could always offer them keys to the airlock, but that ain’t gonna happen.

  • Mark Hounshell

I just want someone to explain how a Lunar Eclipse works in the Flat Earth believers.

  • gandalfe

If we take them into space… can we leave them there?

If you can travel around the south pole ice wall with it being on your right hand side and going in a Anti /clockwise direction ,then it is a circle of ice that surrounds us , If by the other hand you was to travel in the same direction with the ice in the right hand side and you went in a clockwise direction then it will be a continent of ice . ITS SUCH AN EASY WAY TO PROVE IT ,BUT WHO WANTS TO LISTEN TO ME . Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

  • carecanada

I one time I was up high looking out over the ocean, and I thought I saw the curvature of the earth. Also my distant cousin, John Glenn, who now has passed away, went around the earth in a man made satellite and he thought he was circumnavigating the globe. How could he have been wrong. I saw his little pod in the
Smithsonian Museum. It was very cramped ..He almost rode in a curled up position. And that is my family history…..

  • Avery Walters

No one has ever circumnavigated the “globe” because it can not be done. Sure, someone can say they have done it but they can not provide the necessary proof to back it up. As far as the sending a flat earther to space, come on now. We all know that will never happen because, once again, it can not be done. No one has ever been to space and no one will ever go there, except via hollywierd studios. Think about this, the earth is supposedly spinning around at 100 mph daily while orbiting the sun at 250,000 while the universe is corkscrewing around the galaxy at 500,000 mph allthewhile the entire galaxy is zipping through the vast voids of darkness at over 1,000,000 mph and there was barely a breeze today. LOL. Believe what you wish.

  • Jim Deferio

Why did the ancient Norse and the Germans depict Asgard as FLAT?
Way before them the Greeks had figured the circumfirence of the earth!
Fact: When the Romans encounered the Germanic tribes they thought of them as dumb barbarians, similar to what the Europeans experienced in their encounter with American Indians. However, the Germans assimilated and thrived and produced some of the most important scientists and mathematicians in human history. The American Indians chose, by-and-large, to remain isolated and they have remained ignorant. I wonder if they believe a flat earth even today.

Rational thought and proven facts don’t matter when you’re too stupid or paranoid to process them. Anyway, ego is the problem not ‘lack of proof.’ Those who self-identify as ‘anti-government’ and ‘anti-science’ due to ascribed theories of evil conspiracy are just mentally unstable and should simply be treated by medication or outright ignored.

If there is no edge, why is it guarded? Why are there laws preventing us to go across the ice wall? Please an explanation that DOES make sense………

Flat earth project uses the same methods used in Scientology to induce Tom Cruise to believe in XENU and the space cooties. The core methods work on most people… matter of fact, they work better on smart people, because smart folks can control their minds better.

Even if you get tried and true flat earthers to go and find the polar ice caps and look around and film it for everyone, the other flat earthers will just think they’re in on the conspiracy.

This is already being undertaken by a private Australian production company. Two groups with opposing ideals, traveling around and testing theories, before sailing off to find the edge.

From the beginning of times there were many that tried to prove the theory that the earth was round one of the first and great minds to sustain was Aristotle.Christopher Columbus was the pioneer to support Aristotle believes but the one that proved it was Magellan that printed his mark over this theory that we embraced till this day on.There is nothing wrong however both sides could be inexact. If you look at simple laws of physics you might be a hypocrite to ignore the Optical illusions that are surrounding us.The human aye is like a muscle you train it to see similar images that your aware of like in our story here the legend says that the Native Arawaks couldn’t see Christopher Columbus ships coming on the horizon due to the fact they didn’t had a basic mind frame about what ships are. There is more then one dimension such as 2D/3D and so on 7D that might place this layout in a really bad light i myself think that generalizing in a big variety of possibilities may be conservatory misplaced and that labeling something this big is selfish…If you try ayahuasca and i’m not kidding you will see there is much to this then plain surfaces and other geometrical shapes.I find this funny how modern man’s ego can grow so powerful although his ideas are so limited that just makes you ask yourself how can i trust somebody’s principle theories that lead to nowhere and leaves you with a huge gap and question mark at every debate all wrapped like a piece of candy that is so irritating that makes you want to smash something so bad cause hell everything is such a big fucking mystery but i’m the right guy that said the planet is round cause look at me i can prove! You ain’t proving shit!My visual art’s teacher once told a great thing wile you point a single top of the chalk on the table you will be able to see one big dot that is in fact a multitude of other small dots … we are just one dot inside that pile of chalk magnified to massive scales and then ask yourself are you that smart cause you one time won a highschool scholarship and you went to Yale or Harvard or whatever there is little to less difference between the plumber and some fancy graduate may be one of them is an arrogant the other shuts up cause he knows his place in this game you people call society…You people reached full level of stupidness and ignorance…One just believe not just what his ayes show him aiévea

In case if earth is flat and global warming cause those ice on the edge to melt then all the water on earth will float out to space??? You gotta be kidding me

The debate ends the day truth prevails…I believe the correct term is; “Earth is a flattening ellipsoid”. Check out The World Geodetic System and see for your selves….
