Strong women realize that most human beings take life too seriously, if for no other reason than because other people just don’t enjoy life as thoroughly and as passionately as they do. Please read the list below in order to learn how you can experience more happiness and success in your life—like all strong women do.
#1: Don’t dwell on what other people think about you.
If you do, then whose life are you really living for—and whose lives are you really living, period? You should be the judge of your own character, success, and happiness, and if you judge any of these things to be lacking, you should be the one to make plans and take action to change things.
#2: Don’t worry about being 100% correct 100% of the time.
Making mistakes is often the best way to learn new things, and to learn how to do things better. No one knows everything, and there’s absolutely no shame in not knowing any of life’s countless minute yet significant idiosyncrasies.
#3: Don’t worry about living up to body stereotypes.
#4: Don’t worry about keeping up with fashion trends.
Feel free to wear a bikini regardless of whether or not your body fits society’s definition of being “bikini-worthy” or not. Wear stripes if you want to, or wear solid colors if you want to. More specifically, wear whatever you inherently desire to wear, enjoy it, and enjoy yourself in it.
#5: Don’t be afraid to be single or alone.
#6: Be yourself in the sack.
#7: Don’t worry about fitting in with the crowd.
Who wants to be the closest thing to a human version of a sheep? Instead, be genuine, be positive, and be productive, and fit-in in any of the countless places in the world where all these amazing character traits are valued and praised.
#8: Don’t worry about social media popularity.
#9: Don’t pay attention to gossip.
#10: Don’t worry about wearing heels (etc.).
Again, if that’s your thing, then embrace it and bask in it. However, if it’s not—never feel obligated to live up to any of other people’s or society’s stereotypes or ideals.
#11: Don’t panic when life becomes extremely difficult or seemingly impossible.
“I like to go out there looking like a strong woman because I am strong. But I am also a woman who goes through all kinds of problems and highs and lows.”—Katy Perry
#12: Judge your overall worth mainly on the worth of your personal character.
“I am a strong woman with or without this other person, with or without this job, and with or without these tight pants.”—Queen Latifah
#13: Sometimes you have to be a little soft to be strong.
“The essence of my work, and of me, is the softer side of a strong woman, and that goes into a number of different roles.”—Dee Wallace
#14: See past—and see through—misrepresentations and half-truths in life.
“Hollywood usually doesn’t have a strong woman in films like that, and it’s stupid, so for the most part they’re usually being directed and written by men.”—Ryan Gosling
#15: Realize that your strength is a large asset—not a small hindrance.
“I’m one of those guys who believes that you need a strong woman in your life.”—Pierce Brosnan
