Nature is truly beautiful, and we must cherish the little pieces of pure natural beauty it has to offer now and then. One of those naturally occurring marvels is an exquisite phenomenon known as ‘crown shyness’.
‘Crown shyness’ is when the branches and leaves of fully grown trees don’t touch each other leading to gaps in the canopy. These gaps look like deliberate patterns that look like an elegant piece of art.
There are several reasons for crown shyness. It can occur simply due to the trees rubbing against each other, or could develop in order to prevent shading and ensure enough light exposure to the rest of the tree and other plants. It can also be made so as to not let harmful bacteria and insects spread from one tree to another.
While the trees may have their reasons for crown shyness, what we see when we look about is absolutely breathtaking. Here are some of the most beautiful pictures of this extraordinary phenomenon. Nature truly is stunning!
