Dads are simply the best! And this dad proved he’s a class apart when he gave his daughter an invaluable life lesson about anger.
Randy Gaines is you average daughter’s dad but this video where he’s speaking to his daughter is a lesson in good parenting for all.
In a video which is currently winning the internet, Randy Gaines is speaking to his daughter in a composed tone, sitting by her at the table. They’re both at each others’ eye-level and he’s giving her correcting her in what was more like a soft pep-talk which got the message across.
After his daughter had a little outburst of anger, Randy spoke to her in his best mild-mannered self. In the video, he says, “You don’t always have to be happy, you don’t always have to be silly or funny, you don’t have to be anything. The important thing is—whenever you’re feeling that way—to not just stay there all the time. You want to accept it, you want to honor it, you want to acknowledge it, and let it go.”
Not only is this excellent advice for anyone who’s battling anger issues, it’s adorable to know that this was passed on from father to daughter.
In the video, the daughter is angry at her dad because earlier that day he was calling her a name she didn’t like. All hell broke loose thereafter and the child lost her cool with an anger outburst over her father.
But like the mature father that Randy is, he immediately calmed her down and talked her though handling her emotions.
Watch this beautiful father-daughter exchange that will melt your heart and give you parenting advice for the future.
"I think I just watched and listened to one of the most powerful conversations in my life…This man right here. His ability to connect, and to speak from the heart ❤️ Open & honestly…I fell in love with him before we had our girls, but moments like this make me fall even more in love with him…We connect on this level; and my heart explodes when he connects to his girls like this… ? ❤️No yelling. No screaming.Talking. Discussing emotions and why we have such feelings. HEALTHY outlets (walking, running, punching a pillow, etc)…Getting down to the root of the problem. Setting boundaries, because feelings were upset. RESPECTING boundaries, to ensure it doesn't occur again…Parenting which neither of us had growing up. Listening ears as little ones speak. Knowing you are still loved no matter what. Knowing you are enough, always…Our goals as parents are to ensure they do not endure what we did as children…I am so blessed, and so thankful to have this man as my other half. Our girls are blessed to have him as their father. Thank you Randy Gaines for being you!" ❤️?????????For our best love stories, subscribe to our free email newsletter: http://bit.ly/29l733Q#LoveWhatMattersA Love What Matters Original Video Submitted by D.G.
