People come into our lives for various reasons. Sometimes they enter your life and stay there forever, whereas other times they come for a short while and leave. But each of these people enter your life for a particular purpose and depart when this purpose has been fulfilled.
Several people subscribe to the “A reason, a season, a lifetime” belief, which defines why some enter your life for a longer duration than others. While it may be on to something, it, as such, doesn’t define the ‘reasons’ why one meets specific people in their lifetime.
Each person you meet is here to play a specific role in your journey through life. There are no coincidences or accidents in life. There is a certain cosmic intervention that occurs each time someone steps into your life. And here are a few reasons why they do.
1. To awaken us
We are often so content with our lives that we construct a comfort zone for ourselves. We resign to the idea of monotony and routine and actually start relishing it in auto-pilot mode. When this happens, the universe sends us someone who can stir things up a little and encourage us to change. They will open our eyes to new possibilities and make us realize what we’re missing when we were stuck in the rut.
2. To hold space for us
These people enter your life for a short small amount of time. Yet they subconsciously end up teaching you invaluable life lessons. They may be the person sharing a seat with you on a plane journey or a random woman you spoke to in the bathroom of a club. Whoever they are, and no matter how short a duration they entered your life for, their role is still significant and holds meaning.
3. To remind us
If you’ve ever lost sight of your goal or dream these are the people who come into your life to remind you of your objective and put you back on track. They help us remember why we set out on a specific path, to begin with, and prevent any considerable derailment in our plans.
4. To help us grow
To truly achieve our goals we must grow through life and let go of earlier versions of ourselves. While this growth mostly happens internally, it is often triggered by a certain person in your life. This person stimulates our growth and inspires us to do better in our endeavors.
5. To encourage us
Often one goes through times when we feel low and not encouraged enough to do a task which seems daunting at the time. We are in dire need of encouragement and a much-needed push. Then comes along, a person who is just what we need. One who provides us with just the right amount of motivation and who’s wise reassuring words stay with us forever.
6. To be with us long-term
We meet several people in our lives. But only a handful stay for the long haul and are there for you through thick and thin. Often, relationships and friendships take their natural course towards the end. However, there are those extra special and rare people in our lives who stay and enrich our lives at each step. They may be your best friend, family member, or soulmate, and usually, they’re someone who gradually wormed their way into your inner circle. They have a significant impact on your life and they end being your constant. Cherish them forever.
